PM Update: Near record cold temperatures tonight. Much warmer on Sunday.

* Freeze warning for western suburbs, frost advisory for District east until 10 a.m. on Sunday*

It may officially be May 9, but it sure didn’t feel like May today. Record cold low and high temperatures (more on that below) were set across the region today, part of a flurry of record cold and late season snowfall observed across the eastern U.S. on Saturday. Temperatures will actually be a few degrees colder tonight, prompting region wide frost and freezing advisories through Sunday morning. The good news is that by Sunday afternoon, temperatures in the mid 60s will have it feeling like a regular spring day once again.'

NWS is predicting 37 at National Airport (the same as yesterday).

At least the flower plants I bought last week may not keel over yet...
