I've been past this on an H6 Metrobus (it runs between Fort Lincoln and Brookland-CUA), but I've never been on the grounds.

2. I was fortunate to see the cherry blossoms at their peak in Washington DC

This is from last month. I was going for a close-up of the blossoms. This was at the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial.

3. We had a trip planned for DC last year when everything closed down.

These are beautiful! Now we are planning on going there next spring.

4. I can't recommend it highly enough

I wish I had started visiting years ago. I will surely visit again.

5. I can't wait - we even know where we are staying - at the Embassy Suites.

We just need the US to be a little further down the road to herd immunity before we travel that far, before we go to an airport or large hotel type place again.

6. One of my absolute favorite places in DC

Used to go to the Outdoor Stations of the Cross there on Good Friday and once reopened after Covid, the church itself is beautiful. In the old days ( a long time ago) we would go to mass there then COL Brooks tavern for brunch. COL Brooks is all gone and Brooklnd has changed some but still the best neighborhood in the city.
