Metro DC, Md: 100+ Degree Heat Expected For Parts of DC, NoVa, Md; DC Activates Heat Emergency

Patch/MSN, July 6, 2021.

WASHINGTON, DC — Portions of the Washington, D.C. metro region are expected to endure high temperatures throughout Tuesday, with several severe storms possible later in the day, according to the National Weather Service.

A heat advisory is in effect for northeastern Maryland, including Baltimore, from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m., NWS reported. Residents there can expect temperatures around 105 degrees, while other areas will see temperatures in the lower 100s. Several severe thunderstorms may pass through the region late in the afternoon and evening, with a chance of strong thunderstorms affecting coastal waters.

NWS issued a hazardous weather outlook at 7:55 a.m., on Tuesday, for Maryland's portion of the Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and parts of northern Virginia, central Maryland, and D.C. along the I-95 corridor.

High temperatures in the 100 to 105 degree range may continue into Wednesday, according to NWS.

Localities affected by the hazardous weather outlook include: Prince Georges, Anne Arundel, Charles, St. Marys, Calvert, Central and Southeast Montgomery, Central and Southeast Howard, and Harford counties, in Maryland; and Prince William County, Manassas, Manassas Park, Fairfax County, Arlington County, Falls Church, Alexandria, Stafford, Spotsylvania, and King George County...

when I was here was 2 million population, in contrast to 5-6 million people now. Down right pleasant back then. lol .

The Atlantic coast area with ocean breezes was/is hot in summer of course, but with tons of outdoor fun.
