talked with me tonight about how mild their winters have been recently.

(20,200 posts)2. Our normal snowfall by the end of January....
is just below 56 inches. So far this year we've had slightly over 17 inches. That includes the famous "lake effect" snow from Lake Ontario. Most of that snow fell in the great Christmas blizzard that buried Orchard Park (a suburb of Buffalo) in 85 inches of snow. We got about 8-10 inches 50 miles northeast of there.
We've had a normal amount of precipitation, but it's been in the form of rain instead of snow.
So far it's been a very unusual winter.

I'm fine with cold but this city loses it's mind over the tiniest sprinkling of snow.
