Florida: eligibility for covid 19 vaccination amended criteria

On Monday, March 8, Governor Ron DeSantis issued executive order 21-62, which expands eligibility criteria for COVID-19 vaccines. To view the order in its entirety, visit www.flgov.com/2021-executive-orders/.

Per the order, effective Monday, March 15, the following groups are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine:

Long-term care facility residents and staff;
Persons 60 years of age and older;
Health care personnel with direct patient contact;
K-12 school employees 50 years of age and older;
Sworn law enforcement officers 50 years of age and older; and
Firefighters 50 years of age and older.
The state registration system, which is used for appointments at the Volusia County Fairgrounds, will schedule individuals based upon the updated criteria.
