A Florida accountant has been accused of confining three women in his home as sex slaves, prostituting them and posting a video of himself raping at least one of the victims.
Gainesville resident Timothy Deegan, 53, was charged with three counts of human trafficking June 6th, the Gainesville Sun reported last week and could face additional charges. Deegan owns a tax business and a sizable home sporting a fountain and statues of lions near a large driveway.
But inside the house, investigators said they found traps, running cameras and weapons, which Deegan allegedly used to subjugate the three women.
In a complaint filed by the Gainesville-Alachua County Drug Force and obtained by the Gainesville Sun, authorities said Deegan met the women on an escort website last December. He soon began to prostitute the women to other clients, providing transportation and collecting money they earned while keeping them high on cocaine.
Authorities said Deegan quickly took control of his victims' lives by monitoring their trysts with johns via GPS on their cell phones, threatening them, hiding cameras in his home to watch them and recording sex acts without their knowledge.
One alleged victim contacted police in December after she said she found a recording of Deegan raping her while she was unconscious on sleeping medication. Deegan was arrested on a sexual battery charge in the incident, according to CBS News
After being released on a $250,000 bond, officials arrested Deegan again in April for allegedly buying and selling crack cocaine, according to My Fox Orlando.
When officers arrested Deegan at his home, they found traps in his residence. The knobs had also been taken off the doors, and syringes and homemade sex tapes were found.
Two other women came forward, claiming that Deegan kept the women constantly medicated on drugs before forcing them to have sex with him or other men. He would then stream videos of the sex acts online, according to the complaint. The women also said that Deegan showed them letters from other women he had allegedly drugged and sexually battered. When his victims weren't working for him, they were kept locked inside the home where they were under constant surveillance and threatened with guns, records state.
Neighbors who heard of the arrest expressed fear at the man living next door to them. One neighbor who anonymously spoke to The Gainesville Sun said he had had suspicions.
"About three weeks ago, a car followed my daughter as she walked through the neighborhood, then the car pulled over to his house. When I heard human trafficking, he could have been looking for my daughter," the man said. "One night a truck drove up and dropped this girl off in the driveway. She was in a fetal position, moaning. Girls were screaming over there. Some of them would be outside on the phone, and they would be cursing."

my daughter was one of these girls that this monster did this to..she was a national missing person for over a year, and this vile worm pretended to be my friend and often called and consoled me ( i live in oklahoma and she was missing in florida) he even put up $500 towards hiring a "private investigator" to help me find her...words cant explain how betrayed i feel, when all along this "Christian" so-called concerned friend of my daughter is the one who kidnapped and eventually "sold" my daughter to really really bad people...as of today, i still have not been able to hug my daughter, but she is on her journey home...Thank you Jesus for bringing this demon down and rescuing my baby girl and thank you everyone who has been a support during this very very long year of my life. The nightmare is over...YOURS IS JUST BEGINNNING TIMOTHY DEEGAN...I HOPE BAD PEOPLE DO TO YOU IN PRISON WHAT YOU DID TO MY DAUGHTER!!!! i forgive ONLY because that is what Jesus would do...but i will never forget...

I have just received a call from a friend and neighbor. A mutual friend is THE NEIGHBOR on Xxxxx Xxxxxx in Clearwater Beach to this perps family. She says that before college, Timothy Deegan, a son of a minister terrorized her daughter! When he went away to college, he stayed up there. The family is still living next door, and they are asking me why there is nothing in OUR local paper? A few neighbors also believe the Times is not covering this because the parents live in the community, and this perp grew up here in Clearwater. I told the mutual friend, I would send this info out and again ask, where's the Times?

Timothy Deegan, the son of a former Clearwater city commissioner who worked with the Catholic church, spent his teen years in a waterfront home on Island Estates. He went to the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he spent the ensuing decades establishing his life as a well-known tax accountant who lived in a well-to-do home complete with a sculpture of St. Francis.
Now Deegan is in the Alachua County Jail, accused of living a sordid secret life of sexual assault, drugs and terror. The 53-year-old is accused of enslaving three women in his home, prostituting them, videotaping sex acts that he posted online, and feeding them drugs in exchange for sex and housekeeping.
According to a complaint filed by the Gainesville-Alachua County Drug Task Force, Deegan met the women last year via Backpage.com, where they booked appointments with clients for sex.
Initially, Deegan would record his sex trysts with the women and stream the videos on an adult website. But soon he was driving them to appointments with other men, pocketing the money they earned and paying them with cocaine instead, according to the complaint.
His hold over their lives progressed until he was tracking their movements with a GPS on their cellphones, and recording sex acts using cameras hidden in his home, the complaint said. He set up booby traps to keep them from leaving.
In December, one victim reported to the Alachua County Sheriff's Office that she had discovered a video of Deegan raping her while she was drugged on sleeping pills, the complaint said.
Deegan was initially charged with sexual battery. In a complaint unsealed last week, he is charged with three counts of human trafficking.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement records show Deegan has arrests dating back to 1979, including for disorderly conduct and resisting an officer in Clearwater, and trafficking cocaine and other drugs in Alachua County.
Deegan spent his formative years in Clearwater's Island Estates community and graduated from Clearwater High School.
His father, Art Deegan, served on what was then the City Commission in the 1990s.
Art Deegan and his wife, Patricia, moved to Clearwater in 1972 and still live in the same house on Island Estates where they raised three children.
After a career as a management consultant, Art Deegan opened an office in Clearwater where he ran the Conference for Pastoral Planning and Council Development, an association of planners for Catholic churches. He and his wife served on various civic and charity boards.
Timothy Deegan, who owns Deegan Professional Tax Service, is to be arraigned Tuesday.
Florida corporation records list him as the current or past president, director, manager or treasurer of about two dozen businesses or organizations.
