We get a spate of violent rain, followed by clouds then sunshine.

Dorian is a powerful storm, but from what I am reading, it is a smallish storm in terms of it's reach. My guess is that even if it comes close to the coast, people where I live will be ok, maybe some power out and down trees, but no pounding.
