Planning trip ...question about weather

Planning trip to St Petersburg beach early April.

Can anyone give a rough guess about temperatures daytime and evening?
Bring jackets? Rainwear?

1. How much space would a lined hooded windbreaker and a poncho/umbrella take, for Pete's sake.

And maybe some closed-toe running shoes? There's still something to be said for the phrase, "Be prepared."

2. Bring light jacket and some raingear

Coolish in a.m. And after dark. Maybe a shower or two, but not much. Temps expected low 80s for quite a while til summer arrives our weatherman here in Ft Myers says. We're an hour or so south. Have fun and eat lots of seafood!

4. It is 85 degrees today in Tampa...

If I could help you with the weather in April I would be picking winning lottery numbers instead.

St. Petersburg is beautiful year round.
That's all I got.

5. It will be warm/hot

You may have some afternoon rain, but likely won’t need coats or sweaters. Shorts and short sleeves.

6. If your from Florida, it will seem ok. If you are from further north, it will seem HOT.

But as others have mentioned, take a light jacket just in case.
