Snip
The above ad represents what every political observer in Georgia figured was coming: The first of many attack ads targeting Democrat Michelle Nunn using phrases gleaned from the 144-page series of memos leaked from her Senate campaign.
The ad, backed by a seven-figure buy from the conservative Ending Spending Action Fund, quotes the memos use of the words too liberal and lightweight in addressing the nonprofit executives potential vulnerabilities. And it highlights the Nunn campaigns concerns about a Points of Light connection to a charity that has ties to Hamas, the militant group now at war with Israel.
With that latter argument, we are entering potentially new ground. Nunn merged the charity she founded, Hands On Atlanta, with Points of Light, George H.W. Bushs organization. The ex-presidents son, Neil Bush, still chairs the board. Attacks on the nonprofit by GOP nominee David Perdues allies could be interpreted as attacks on the Bush clan, too.

(13,630 posts)I've already seen the tone being set by Perdue and the right wing Super-PACs, and it ain't nice. Then I finally saw a Nunn ad tonight and it just talked about her time with Hands On Atlanta and Points of Light. IMO her campaign should be embracing Obamacare, attacking Perdue for not wanting lower income Georgians to have access to healthcare, etc.

(2,530 posts)which is worrisome, but I've seen the ad described in this post several times. Reminiscent of the Chambliss/Cleland campaign. This is going to be nasty. They have no shame.
