The Only Reason Kirk Is Meeting With Garland Is Because.....

he knows he is in trouble keeping his Senate seat against Tammy Duckworth. He's thinking that Illinois voters will think he's a different kind of Repug. But he isn't. The Dems will pick up a Senate seat in Illinois.

if hc is the nom we will get low turn out and that never works for us

low turn out is why we have a rep senator and gov now

but i agree his reelection campaign is the only reason he is meeting with garland

She is also a SD who has endorsed Hillary, who was recently in Chicago for a fundraiser, at which Tammy was present. http://chicago.suntimes.com/columnists/hillary-clinton-in-chicago-for-fundraiser-today/

At least part of those monies will undoubtedly go towards electing Tammy in November. Hillary works hard for down-ticket Dems.

Kirk and his supporters went after Duckworth before and made a total ass of himself. With Rahmbo on the ropes so to speak,and being a Presidential Election Cycle,Kirk is looking for any excuse to stay viable. Hopefully Chuck Schumer does not screw this up.

his views recently. He has done the same thing on abortion.

He knows the Illinois voters are sick and tired of republicans at all levels. Rauner is destroying our state.

Tammy Duckworth is enormously popular. Still, he did the right thing, even if it was for the wrong (or at the very least, suspect) reasons.
