An ad I wish Pritzker would run

"Yes, I want to raise income taxes on some people. I want to do so for two reasons: First, a flat 3% paid by everyone, whether you flip burgers or are a CEO is unfair. Second, Bruce Rauner's fiscal irresponsibility -- let's not mince words, Rauner's refusal to act like an adult instead of a child having a tantrum -- has put the state finances in a terrible condition. Raising the state income tax is necessary to fix that. I didn't cause that problem, Bruce Rauner did. But I promise you that if you give me the chance, I'll do my best to get us out of it.

He’s lucky in the sense that he’s up by 15 points or so in polls. He doesn’t need to run negative advertising.

I see it as an honest response to Rauner's attack ad. I also wish Pritzker would run an ad saying that Rauner seems to be running as much against Mike Madigan as he is against Pritzker.

A possible third ad would be along the lines of "Rauner is not running on his record of accomplishments. The reason is simple: He doesn't have any."
