I hate to admit it, but the idea of a Rauner governorship scares me plenty. For the first time, I may cross over just to vote for anyone but Billionaire Bruce.

Dillard has been coming up, but it remains to be seen if his few ads can compete with a self-funded billionaire spending millions on a primary.
Brady? No chance.
and that other guy? Exactly my point.

As important is our judicial election. There are some terrible candidates, absolute morons or unethical shits who may win. I absolutely will vote.

1. I'm in DuPage County and plan to pull a Republican primary ballot for the first time.

Most of our Democratic primary ballot shows either one candidate or no candidates for each office.

All the good I can do, if any, rests with the havoc I can help cause within the other party.

5. Same in my county, except for one county race. I also plan to 'cross over'.

Our County Clerk is retiring, and two of his deputy clerks are vying to replace him. Both are excellent, honest and equally-experienced, and they've both stated that they like each other and will have no problem working for the winner. All of the judicial candidates are Democrats, and without opposition.

Rauner scares the holy hell out of me. Brady scares the the holy hell out of me, but for different reasons. Rutherford is so done, he already has a fork stuck in him, so that leaves Dillard/Tracy as the least objectionable choice. God forbid that Pat Quinn should implode or otherwise meet with electoral disaster in November, I would at least like to have a GOP governor whose election doesn't immediately send me looking for a sword with which to commit sepuku.

There are (I think) only 2 contested races on our ballot, one of which is pretty safe, the other I don't care much for either candidate. I'm gonna ask for that R ballot, hold my nose & vote for Dillard - leaving the rest of the ballot blank. Hope I don't end up on some yucky republican phone list to robocall every election from this point onward.

Besides, am I right or wrong: All the judicial candidates in my area (Cook County) are Democrats (no Republicans even running). So whoever wins the primary, in contested races, will be elected in November. I assume these candidates are not on the Republican ballot.

I've already done my research on the judicial races. It's also important to vote for Toni Preckwinkel's choices for Cook County Board. None are in my district, maybe they're in yours, though. Got a robo call from the teachers union asking me to pull a GOP primary ballot to vote "for" Dillard. Got a Right to Life call to vote for Dillard as well. Ugh.

Quinn/Vallas better win this in November.

Given the Blaggo deck he was dealt, Quinn has done pretty well, even though people are pissed at him. I suspect that anyone coming in like he did would have troubles and a bad rap.

Rauner reminds me of Scott Walker, only richer.

I voted for Dillard, period. It was one of those 'in the event of fire, break glass and pull handle' votes, should electoral disaster befall Pat Quinn.

I don't LIKE Sen. Dillard, but he's the only goober the GOP has running whose election wouldn't cause me to pull up stakes and move out of Illinois.

so that even if Rauner wins, he won't be able to do too much damage.

And don't count Pat Quinn out just yet. He pulled a rabbit out of his hat in 2010, he may just be able to do it again. Fingers crossed!

9. I voted in my suburb at 8:08. I was #26

Last time around, with no president on the ballot, same bat time, same bat station, I was 44.

No lines, only one other voter present, only one campaign worker lurking outside like a ghoul. Weirdest of all only three campaign signs up.

I usually check ivi/ipo for judicial races - I had forgotten about cba. They do have a decent synopsis of why they recommend (or not) each candidate.
