Purdue football coach Jeff Brohm tests presumed positive for COVID-19
WEST LAFAYETTE - Purdue coach Jeff Brohm returned a presumed positive COVID-19 result during the team's daily antigen testing procedures Sunday, the school announced.
The football program is awaiting confirmation via a PCR test, which could take up to 24 hours.
According to the press release, Brohm informed his coaching staff and team Sunday afternoon and is currently at home in isolation. No acting head coach was named in the press release but first-year defensive coordinator Bob Diaco has head coaching experience at Connecticut.
Brohm and the Boilermakers are scheduled to begin the 2020 season - along with the rest of the Big Ten - this weekend. Purdue hosts Iowa on Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium.
