Iowa is officially a Red State. Unfortunately aging white people, isolated, exposed to hate radio, it doesn't surprise me. Ernst and Chuck the are laying low until they get some situational clues which way to take a stand. Ah leadership!

I wish I could say no but have seen nothing more than this. Everyone claims they are doing their constitutional duty.

Des Moines Register Dec 14 2020

Sen. Joni Ernst, Iowa's junior Republican senator, was also asked about the Electoral College vote by reporters in Washington, D.C.

"Like it or not, I know for Iowans it's disappointing. But the process is what it is and the Constitution will be followed," she told reporters on Capitol Hill on Monday.

Asked if that means Biden is the president-elect, Ernst said, "if that's what the Electoral College decides today."

Sen. Chuck Grassley, Iowa's senior Republican senator, has said since last month that Biden would be president-elect once the Electoral College voted.

Asked by reporters on Capitol Hill on Monday if it was time to acknowledge Biden as president-elect, Grassley said "I don't have to, the Constitution does."

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - When asked whether they would object to Wednesday’s congressional certification of the electoral vote, the majority of Iowa’s delegation said they would not.

The lone exception was Sen. Joni Ernst, whose office did not indicate that she would object, but that she was not committed either way.

“Senator Ernst is continuing to hear from Iowans on the matter and will be considering all the information before making her decision,” a spokesperson for Ernst said, in a statement.

Spokespeople for Sen. Chuck Grassley, Rep. Ashley Hinson, and Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, all Republicans, said that they would not be challenging the electoral vote certification.
