My wife and I have appointments for the vaccine this be Thursday!
It took an hour and a half, but it’s done. I decided to check to see if any of the local HyVee pharmacies had any appointments at about 4 PM. I do it periodically and they always say No Appointments Available for all of the locations. Suddenly, the Johnston store had tons of appointments all week. I got signed up, printed out the confirmation, and signed my wife up for the appointment immediately after mine. That’s when the fun began.
The system refused to accept the application. We tried several times and then called HyVee. Their advice? Clear out your application and start again. Oh joy! We did, but by then we couldn’t even get to the list of stores. After an hour, we could get to the store, but couldn’t get to the list of appointment times. Finally, we were able to fill out the form again, but it took three tries before it was accepted. Finally, we have appointments for the first and second Pfizer shots, and it was all luck, and a lot of perseverance.

1. Good for you
It shouldn't have to be so difficult. I signed up through my health department by filling out a form online a couple of weeks ago. I got a call on Friday to set up an appointment for the drive-through clinic. I chose the 9 to 12 slot. I got there at 8 and there were already about 50 cars ahead of me, but there were at least five lanes going when they started.
I actually got my vaccine at 9:25. So far, so good. If I touch the injection site there's the slightest bit of discomfort. Other than that, I feel completely normal. My second dose is March 15th. |

2. Congratulations, and continued health.
The appointments available at HyVee were in 15 minute increments.

3. I'm glad you don't have to wait in line
It wasn't bad for me, but those who didn't get there early this morning likely had a boring wait.

5. Congrats! hubby and I had both ours..Pfizer as well. NO side effects except relief :)
...also the Pfizer shot is so quick and i didnt even feel it (Im a BIG baby!). Hubby is a Pharmacist and I asked him why this shot was so quick and he said theres only 3 ml and the typical flu shot ( for comparison) is 5 ml
