There are some incredible players joining the squad next season, including five-star guard Addie Deal, a Californian with Clark-like scoring and defending abilities who turned down offers from LSU, Ohio State, Indiana, USC, UCLA and others in favor of Iowa. Another is Lucy Olsen, a junior guard whose 23.3 average points a game for Villanova last season made her the third-highest scorer in the nation behind Clark and USCs JuJu Watkins. After entering the transfer portal, Olsen settled on Iowa for her fourth and final year of collegiate play.
Still, its hard to imagine next years star as anyone other than Hannah Stuelke, the versatile forward from Cedar Rapids.
I always wanted to go to Iowa as a kid, Stuelke told the Register in 2022. Ive always lived here, grew up a Hawkeye fan. We went to a ton of games and were always watching when we couldnt make it. It was really cool to have my dreams come true.
Can't help it folks - I am a fan.

(442 posts)1. Great article!
Thanks for sharing! I will never ever get enough of these reminders of a special time for Iowa WBB, the University, loyal fans and alums and the state. This team and these coaches are such great representatives and role models (jealous haters be damned).
And while I agree that Hannah is going to be a big star, I think Syd is going to have a great year, too. Tough competition coming in from the Pac 12 but the Hawks will come through. Thanks again for sharing.
