(Council Bluffs) -- Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz is holding a press conference in Council Bluffs on Thursday.
Officials with Schultz' office say the conference is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Council Bluffs City Hall. In an earlier interview with KMA News, Schultz indicated he was going to be using the holidays to decide whether or not to run for the 3rd Congressional District seat being vacated by Republican Tom Latham, and observers are speculating Schultz will formally be announcing his decision at this upcoming press conference.

Schultz is dumb as a doornail. How he ever beat Mike Mauro is a shame. Mauro was damn good as SoS.
Well, let me wish Schultz all the bad luck he can possibly get.

(49,999 posts)I hate to say it, but I bet he'll get plenty of support around here.
But wouldn't it be great if he ran and lost. And we could get him out of the SOS office!

(711 posts)He may be dumber than a box of rocks, with no real skills, other than wasting taxpayer's money, but the Democrats HAVE to get out and VOTE!!!
Two special elections have been held in Madison and Warren county recently, and the Republicans have won both of them. Admittedly, this (unfortunately) is a Republican area, but there wasn't any campaigning by the Democrats for either one of the elections. All I knew about Pam Deichman was what I got on the one (that's right -1-) postcard I got in the mail on Monday. Yes, I did go vote, and I was one of the 695 people who voted for her. It's one thing to lose the election, but to basically just give up, and not even work hard to TRY to win is unforgivable.
I've read it elsewhere here on DU that we have GOT to get Democrats out to vote in this election cycle. Its very true, we do!! Bitching and whining and moaning about it won't cut it, here or anywhere. If it's going to change, we have to change it.
