Technical Foul: Bobby Kaufmann Responds to Extreme 16
Des Moines, Iowa -- Representative Bobby Kaufmann (R-Wilton) responded today to his inclusion in Progress Iowa's annual
Extreme 16 listing of the most extreme Iowans.
Kaufmann wrote an email from his state legislative email address to Progress Iowa Executive Director Matt Sinovic stating that:
"I'll add 3rd-rate comedian to your list of credentials right behind known liar and political hack."

Progress Iowa Executive Director Matt Sinovic issued the following statement in response:
"If Rep. Kaufmann continues to label advocates liars for standing up for their families and neighbors, he shouldn't be surprised when he's criticized for it. Unless he reverses course on a number of his policy positions, perhaps Kaufmann should follow the advice that he's given to others in the past, and develop a thicker skin."
