KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Republican congressman from Kansas who is also a doctor says he has been taking a malaria drug being touted by President Donald Trump as way to protect against the coronavirus, despite warnings that it could have potentially fatal side effects.

U.S. Rep. Roger Marshall, who is running for the U.S. Senate, said he doesn’t have COVID-19 but is taking hydroxychloroquine as a preventative drug. His parents, siblings and wife also are taking the drug, a spokesman for Marshall said.

GOP voters are vulnerable to images, in an exaggerated way.

Ask Karl Rove. As he said "We make our own reality, and the rest of you have to catch up". Pictures and memorable soundbites will trump (sorry) facts and reasoned analysis in many folks.

It's all about the ratings. A reality show about crazy rich women will command a far greater audience than a documentary about possible treatments for Covid-19.

Trump knows this. He is a con man.

And Roger Marshall knows it, too.

I never heard of this guy until just now, and here I am writing about him in a thread.
