Racism is a smoldering rag on the senses of the nation. It's been here for centuries, and only our common humanity can mitigate that dynamic tension.

Trump is a different story. He threw gasoline on that racism rag. AND THAT'S ALL HE DID. That incendiary action will recede in its influence, IMO, because, frankly, people have more important things to do. Cultural diversity in our communities will inevitably grow because we naturally intermingle, and we intermarry. We have grandkids who don't look like our grandparents, and racial/cultural tribalism will naturally dissipate as those who exploit racial/cultural tensions will lose relevancy.

Our people will become aware that leaders who exploit racial and cultural difference are eager for money and power and leverage racial/cultural tensions to gain it. That's been a go-to strategy for decades, for centuries. Our present leaders must open up to the rest of us and call that deception for what it is.
