Halstead’s ex-police chief, city administrator face felony charges
The Halstead city administrator and the town’s former police chief were arrested and booked into jail Monday on felony charges, the Harvey County Sheriff’s Office said.
The felony charge against the former police chief involves an alleged purchase of Halstead Police Department ammunition for use by private individuals.
Halstead City Administrator James Hatfield has been charged with felony perjury, the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Hatfield was taken to the Harvey County Detention Center, booked in around 10 a.m. and his bond was set at $2,500, sheriff’s spokeswoman Melissa Flavin said. Hatfield posted a cash bond Monday afternoon, she said.
