Woman arrested at Baton Rouge movie theater after threatening to ‘shoot somebody’
A woman was arrested Saturday at a Baton Rouge Cinemark movie theater after she repeatedly said, Im going to shoot somebody, just days after a mass shooting at The Grand 16 Theatre in Lafayette left two people dead and nine others wounded.
Management at the Perkins Rowe theater notified authorities after Gaynell Haydel, 27, walked up to the ticket booth inside the theater and said repeatedly that she was going to shoot someone, according to an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriffs Office report.
Haydel was unprovoked, deputies said in the report, and her threats made moviegoers and employees fear for their safety with some even leaving the theater.
When a deputy arrived, he told Haydel she had to leave the theater because of the statements she made, and she said, I dont have a gun on me, according to the report.
