Former governor Edwin Edwards hospitalized but expected to be discharged soon
Former Gov. Edwin Edwards is hospitalized with a case of pneumonia.
“He will be out in a day or so,” said Mary Jane Marcantel, a long-time friend.
Marcantel said she heard him asking for ice cream when she called to check on him Wednesday.
The 88-year-old Edwards, a Democrat, is the state’s only four-term governor.
