Bobby Jindal named to holding company's board of directors

Former Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has been added to the Cotton Holdings Inc. Board of Directors.

“Having known and worked with Bobby over the past several years, I am very pleased to now have him join the Board as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Company,” Cotton Holdings CEO Pete Bell said in a statement Tuesday. “I am confident that Bobby’s vast expertise and depth of knowledge of government, coupled with his extensive commercial experience, will add tremendous value to the Company and, ultimately, our shareholders.”

Jindal, a Republican, left office in January after serving two terms as governor. He previously served as a Congressman representing the state's 1st District, head of the state Department of Health and president of the University of Louisiana System, among other duties.

Jindal unsuccessfully sought the GOP nomination for president last year. Cotton Holdings Inc. is a Texas-based infrastructure support services company.
