Baton Rouge police: Man arrested in rape of a 9-year-old girl
A 24-year-old Baton Rouge man accused of raping a 9-year-old girl in late June was arrested Monday on an unrelated bench warrant issued after he failed to show up for a probation revocation hearing.
In the rape case, Javier Dunn, of 2870 Michelli Drive, told the girl to go into a room alone with him and raped her on June 25, an arrest warrant filed in state district court says.
Dunn, who faces a count of first-degree rape, alleged in July that Baton Rouge officers stomped and punched him during demonstrations on July 10 outside police headquarters on Goodwood Boulevard over the fatal police shooting of Alton Sterling.
Dunn said on July 14, briefly after his release from Parish Prison, that he suffered a fractured eye socket during his arrest at the demonstration on counts of obstruction of a highway and resisting arrest.
