What is the number of the progressive radio station? 89.3 WPFW PacificaLast edited Mon Jun 6, 2016, 03:53 PM - Edit history (2)
I am new in Maryland, and I cannot seem to find any of the progressive radio shows I listened to in Illinois. Can anyone suggest which FM or AM radio stations I should tune in to on my radio? 89.3 WPFW Pacifica

1. Detroit went up to ONE then down to ZERO -- where it remains.
Years back, new years day, the antenna was taken down -- yes, on a holiday -- taken down and recycled (i.e. destroyed). The station license was given (i.e. trashed) to a minority organization. Probably run by Clarence Thomas and friends.
So, good luck finding one in your neck of the woods. In case you are wondering why only certain states are, you know, liberal. |

2. If you're close to D.C., then Pacifica (WPFW, 89.3 FM)
WPFW's motto is Jazz and Justice and has a decent amount of Leftist content (it used to range from progressive to radical, but I think they tooled down some of the more radical programming a few years back).

3. I am in Illinois and cannot find anything but right wing talk
What stations did you find progressive radio on in Illinois? Please give me a dial number, I would love to hear something other than Rush, Beck, Levine, Savage, Gallagher.
PS: I am downstate. |

4. Ooh, Downstate, that's a tough one!
I was living in Plano, IL, not far from DeKalb or Chicago, so I could receive progressive talk radio on about FM 92.5 or 92.6. In the old days, I lived in Southern Illinois towns for over twenty years (Carbondale, Grand Tower, Desoto), so SIU-C had a pretty good station. I just googled Saint Louis progressive talk radio, and I found a note suggesting Cincinnati OH or Columbia MO for possible talk radio. Or there is always that thing called SIRIUS or something. I am old and low-tech, so I cannot help you much. Good luck!
