Jones (D), Dyer (R) to face off in November for Baltimore County executive

TOWSON, Md. — Days after the Primary Election, Julian Jones emerged as the Democratic nominee for Baltimore County executive to face off against Republican Patrick Dyer.

The county saw highly competitive primary races for the open Baltimore County executive's office, as well as the first year for an expanded slate of County Council seats.

The Democratic Primary was close enough among the top three out of five candidates that it took days to arrive at a winner.

Five candidates ran in the Democratic Primary as three councilmen — Jones, Izzy Patoka and Pat Young — sought a promotion, while county government employee Mansoor Shams and business attorney Nick Stewart made bids to break through.
