Every time I see Baker on TV, I feel a combination of mild nausea, vague anxiety and a tinge

of anger. (Nasty combination that.)

Then, it worsens and continues to worsen, even after he's off the screen.

I really don't want to go through this for the next four years. I hope I get some kind of immunity, as when your body reacts to a nasty new med, but then adjusts.

Anyone else having a physical reaction to this lower end version of Mitt?

With all the institutions of higher learning in Massachusetts, how did they make the same mistake twice?

I fear that Dems in the Mass. legislature have drifted right as well, so there won't be as many veto overrides as we had with Mitt. If so, Baker will be even worse than Mitt. Actually, I think Baker may be worse than Mitt anyway, except maybe on social issues.

Wish we had a recall provision!

And in Massachusetts no less, ffs.

We need to contact our State House people and let them know we are counting on them to stand as strong with Baker as they did with Romney, if not more so. I wonder if a petition would do it.

See, if we were Republicans, we'd use churches to spread the word. I keep saying that Democrats need to construct some kind of secular equivalent of that. Learning centers, social centers, something by which we could communicate with, and mobilize, each other in 24-48 hours around some form of activism.

He has that Bill Weld air about him.

The only reason he ran is they had no one else that was half interested in the job.

5. Baker ran against Deval Patrick, too, didn't he?

If Baker runs for POTUS, I'll get even more sick. I knew Romney was going to do it and that worried me. Thank goodness for bartenders with phones who just happened to connect with Carter's grandson.

Never even entertained the idea of moving before, but now...
Good states can do foolish things.

That his margin of victory was so very thin is one of the only silver linings in this cloud.

6. No, stay and support our legislature on overriding vetoes.

Politically, I don't think you'll find a better state than Massachusetts. Senators Kerry and Kennedy for God knows how many years, a brief hiccup for the nude centerfold idiot, then Warren and Markey. A dang good House delegation, too, and a state legislature that has been over 90% Dem for a good while. Went Blue for every Presidential since Ike, with the exception of Reagan. (I think that was the only exception, but there might be one more. Sorry, too tired to think tonite.)

Where you gonna find that combination?

12. Naw, stay. Massachusetts' legislature is so strongly Democratic, it can control a Republican

Governor as much as it chooses to do so.

Romney issued over 300 vetoes a year, on average. The legislature overrode most of them. When they didn't override, it was because some Dems went red.

ETA: Oops. I already answered this!

The Boston Mayor did his much better and he is nowhere near as slick as Baker. (But I don't want the Olympics in Boston!)

and yeah, the Olympics will be a clusterfuck...especially the preparation years in advance. Remember the Big Dig? A freaking horror show will every crim boss in the state involved.

Boston is too tiny and too pressed for parking and too full of tourists as it is. Maybe he has a plan for that that looks good on paper, but I cannot imagine it in real life.
