Citizens looking to weigh in on Boston 2024s plan to build an Olympic volleyball venue in Quincy will have their first chance this week.
The group hoping to bring the 2024 Summer Olympics to Boston will hold a public meeting Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the cafe at 500 Victory Road in Marina Bay. Residents and business owners are encouraged to ask questions and share concerns they have with a proposal to stage the beach volleyball competition at Squantum Point Park next to Marina Bay.
Attendees can also ask questions about other parts of Boston 2024's overall plan for the Olympics.
We envision this to be the first of many conversations we will have with the Quincy community, Nikko Mendoza, Boston 2024s vice president of engagement and external affairs, said Monday.

(7,623 posts)1. Is 2024 going to have meetings like this at every proposed site?
This desperate push is getting old. It is not only the site and nearby residents, it is the whole state that will be impacted by this boondoggle.
Give it a rest 2024. We don't want it.
The games in Boston will be good for the few and a disaster for the many.
