"The first three minutes of this film takes place along Detroits old Skid Row on Michigan Avenue just west of downtown. The movie Federal Manhunt is playing at the theater; it was released in 1938. Koblins Cut Rate is visible at 500 Michigan Ave. This whole area was subsequently cleared in an urban renewal scheme that was light on renewal."

I counted about 4 men without a hat, and exactly zero persons of color.

as long as you like black.
And no darker skinned folks in those parts of town, apparently.
