Canvassing for Schauer/Peters for the last few weeks I've determined 4 things:

1) Schauer has a very good chance of winning.

2) Disgust with both major parties and the political system in general is widespread.

3) There's a depressing amount of ignorance/cognitive dissonance/stupidity among a significant portion of the voting population. (e.g., voters who complain about issues directly linked to Snyder but then plan to vote for him anyway)

4) Terri Lynn Land is only slightly more well-liked than Ebola

Most (thinking voters) would prefer to take their chances with ebola.

Where are you canvassing? I believe Schauer has a very good chance in metro Detroit ... from the outside it appears Snyder has massive support outside the major urban areas (typical in Michigan).

I have had medical issues this fall (will be fine, on the road to complete recovery and being "better than ever&quot and my largest regret was that I could not volunteer for Schauer; therefore, my observations are from the outside.

I hope you are correct and remain optimistic!

His support is overwhelming in Wayne and Washtenaw, very strong in Oakland County, and he's ahead in Macomb. We need a good SE Michigan turnout.

Glad you're recovering well and LOL on the Terri Lynn Land quip.

Washtenaw (however not just Washtenaw ---- as Washtenaw County where Rick Snyder lives DID NOT VOTE him in the last time. He lost his county by 6 points), Oakland. Macomb and Wayne county fall in Schauer's camp -- it will be good looking election night of unseating our first Michigan governor in the past 20 years plus, in-between terms.

Let's HOPE and GOTV!

I don't know of a cure for that...perhaps the death of the generation. It made a big difference when Reagan's fan boyz died out.
