Related: About this forumAs demand rises, Planned Parenthood of Michigan now offers vasectomies
(Detroit Metro Times) Planned Parenthood of Michigan has launched a vasectomy pilot program in the state.
The nonprofit reproductive health care organization now offers vasectomy procedures in Grand Rapids, and says the program will expand throughout Michigan in 2026.
We hear from a lot of our patients about wanting more control over their reproductive health or wanting to support their partners in preventing pregnancy and wishing they had more accessible options, so we are very excited to add vasectomy to the long list of sexual and reproductive health care services we offer, Dr. Kate Starr, Planned Parenthood of Michigans chief medical officer, said in a statement. We hope this new program can help fill some of the gaps in need and access and will keep fighting to break down barriers to care so that more Michiganders can control their bodies, their lives, and their futures.
....(snip)....
It follows federal budget cuts from the Trump administration that led Planned Parenthood of Michigan to close clinics and cut staff in 2025, as well as other efforts to restrict abortion access nationwide. .................(more)
