Election Commission approves language for petitions to recall five Grand Blanc Township board members

GRAND BLANC TWP. — Resident and former candidate for supervisor, Monica Shapiro, says she and others will begin collecting signatures in April on petitions seeking to recall five members of the board of trustees.

The petitioners have until June 15 to collect at least 4,717 eligible signatures to trigger a recall election in November.

Shapiro said she’s hoping to get 6,000 to provide a buffer.

“I think it’s doable,” she said.

He is an absolute ass. Bad temper, condescending, arrogant, just to name a few of his 'virtues.

One year he was competing in an annual canoe race that used to be held every May. It was on Thread Creek, which is a tricky flow of water to navigate, especially if the water is high. Our neighbors built a bridge that, in good conditions and with care, you could float right under it. This particular year the water was HIGH. Some people tried to go under it but ended up pulling their canoes over or around it. Not Dave. He has a rather small female companion who was just barely able to flatten down and stay in the canoe. Dave stepped OUT and on to the bridge, went to get back in the canoe when he noticed me. He'd encountered me before at political events. SO, he had to be 'witty' but seemed to forget he had one foot in the canoe and the other on the bridge. I imagine you can picture what happened. I simply smiled and said 'I'm glad I'm smart enough to be a Democrat'. Now, my neighbors were all Republican but they laughed along with me.

I never saw him participate in that race, again.
