Michigan Republican announces retirement, opening up pickup for DemsBY CRISTINA MARCOS - 09/11/17 11:56 AM EDT
Rep. Dave Trott (R-Mich.) announced Monday that he will not seek reelection next year, opening up another potential pickup opportunity for Democrats in the 2018 midterm elections.
Trott will leave the House after only two terms, citing a desire to spend more time with family.
Trott is the third House Republican in a competitive district in the last several days to announce his retirement.
Cook Political Report moved Trott's seat from "likely Republican" to "toss-up" in its campaign ratings following the announcement, suggesting that the seat is now seen as more competitive for Democrats.

Foreclosure leech David Trott resigning from Congress. His work is done there, back to screwing over poor people.
Before getting elected to Congress to represent the 11th Congressional District three years ago, David Trott was a quiet, unassuming parasitic leech on the jugular vein of society. He had built up a vertically integrated business where he got money from foreclosing on poor peoples homes every step of the way.
Heres how David Dayen described Trotts operation on All in with Chris Hayes back in 2014:

Heres how David Dayen described Trotts operation on All in with Chris Hayes back in 2014:
CHRIS HAYES: What money is there to be made the process of [foreclosure]?
DAVID DAYEN: Theres not a whole lot of money to be made if youre just doing the legal work. But Trott & Trott had a unique business strategy where they bought up practically every company down the line that gets a little bit of money out of the foreclosure process. Theres a requirement in Michigan that you have to put legal notices out in the newspaper. They bought the newspaper that did that. Theres a requirement that you have to do a title search. They bought the company that does the title searches and they get money off of that. They bought a real estate agency that then sells the houses after they go into foreclosure. So they kind of made money at every step down line and once you add that up, its lucrative.
HAYES: Yeah, they created, its sort of a turnkey foreclosure operation for the banks where theyre, basically, at every step in the line, they own it.
