Compassion For Michigan Gov. Whitmer Surfaces Amid Florida Trip Pouncing

Gretchen Whitmer's two-day zip to Florida last month is a hot topic among her defenders, as well as detractors.

"They tried to keep it a secret because for Whitmer, it's rules for thee, but not for me."

Whitmer's belatedly disclosed decision to fly south before her first Covid shot April 6 stirs compassion, along with more numerous critiques, in media site comments and on social media. 1. People with loved ones in Nursing homes were prohibited from visiting

My father in law died in the nursing home late last fall and we were prohibited from visiting him for nearly the entire year including at that time. That is what people are angry about.

Also, the governor has repeatedly told people not to travel to Florida and then we find out that the governor, her top aide. and the state health director all went. People are angry at the hypocrisy, not that she visited her dad.

2. What I'm angry about is right-wing media saying she "vacationed" in FL

They lie and lie and lie. It's the "vacation" part that will stick in their minds, even though it wasn't a vacation at all.
