Troy’s former tea-party mayor Janice Daniels — recalled a year ago — was defeated in her bid for a seat on the city council in a battle of nine candidates for three seats.
Daniels finished fourth in the race for three council seats, losing her try for a political comeback after garnering 4,558 votes and 11.33% of the total. Elected were two incumbents and a moderate newcomer, Ellen Hodorek, who opposed Daniels on tax and transit issues and became the top vote-getter.
The re-elected incumbents are collision shop owner Ed Pennington with 8,286 votes or 20.61%, and retired accountant and business owner Wade Fleming with 7,419 votes or 18.45%. Hodorek finished with 8,146 votes or 20.26%. ....................(more)
