Four friends were found dead in an abandoned SUV in a cornfield. Police say the motive is ‘a mystery.’

Four young adults from Minnesota were found dead in an abandoned SUV in a Wisconsin cornfield, police said, in a quadruple homicide case that has more questions than answers now and has left families shattered.

The victims, friends all from the Twin Cities area, were probably driven to the small town of Sheridan, Wis., where they were found on Sunday, Dunn County Sheriff Kevin Bygd said at a Tuesday news conference. Autopsies performed Monday found that all died of gunshot wounds, police said.

“Obviously we’ve had homicides in the last several years,” Bygd told reporters, “but something of this magnitude … this is a first.”

The victims were identified as Nitosha Lee Flug-Presley, 30, of Stillwater, Minn.; Matthew Isiah Pettus, 26, of St. Paul; Loyace Foreman III, 35, of St. Paul; and Jasmine Christine Sturm, 30, of St. Paul. Pettus and Sturm were half-siblings. Foreman and Sturm were in a relationship, while Flug-Presley was a close friend of Sturm.

Days later, police are still grappling with a case in which few details are known.

my bet is that your Sheridan is near Waupaca.

Dunn County is 100
miles west north west from Waupaca..

Pennsylvania is like that. It has townships.

I didn't know. Sorry for the confusion.

Virginia has a town named Buchanan. It also has a Buchanan County. It will take you three and a half hours to drive from one to the other.

maps rarely go for townships

if foreign countries, Apple Maps lags way behind Google.

I was born in a city but lived 2 miles away in a township. The township and the city had the same name but for City of and Town of

Dunn county is pretty rural with few incorporated cities. If they were found in a cornfield, then it is the county that is investigating and they are likely referring to the township, which is the local municipality that consists of (usually) a 36 square mile area. Most townships don't have constables or police.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WEAU) - One suspect has been arrested while another remains at-large in a quadruple homicide investigation based in Dunn County, Wis.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office said 56-year-old Darren Lee McWright (Osborne) of St. Paul, Minn. has been taken into custody by the St. Paul Police Department and is being held in Ramsey County Jail.

Another suspect, 38-year-old Antoine Darnique Suggs of St. Paul, is sought by investigators. Suggs is believed to be in the Twin Cities area, and is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Warrants were issued late Wednesday for McWright and Suggs. Four people, 35-year-old Loyace Foreman III, 26-year-old Matthew Isiah Pettus, and 30-year-old Jasmine Christine Sturm, all of St. Paul, Minn., and 30-year-old Nitosha Lee Flug-Presley of Stillwater, Minn., were found dead by gunshot wounds and abandoned in an SUV in northern Dunn County on Sunday. A vigil was held in the Town of Sheridan near where the bodies were found on Wednesday for the victims.
