Any thoughts on the three candidates vying to unseat the pretender Cravaack?

1. This is of interest to me also. I would like to know who is the most progressive. I wonder why there

is not real info out there yet?

2. I'm supporting Nolan.

I will not support Clark, and I will support Anderson if he is the candidate after endorsement/primary.

What are you looking for when you say "real info"?

3. I guess I am looking for a bio and where they stand. Nolan has been emailing me so I should just go

into his site. I want someone who can beat craavack. NO MORE idiots.

11. Here's how I see it.

I think Nolan is more electable than the other two, and this week's straw poll shows the 8th likes him. He's got all the old-time DFL feel that Oberstar had, without any of the baggage about "deserving" or "owning" the seat that Cravaack hung on him. Cravaack is nervous about running against Nolan in a way he isn't about Anderson or Clark, and I like that.

I like what Nolan has said about things that are important to me, and I find him very approachable, easy to talk to, and responsive.

On top of it all, because he has served before, he would retain the seniority he has in the house. That's HUGE for the 8th, IMO.

Jeff Anderson -- I like what he has to say, but I'll be honest, I'm not 100 percent sure a gay guy can win the 8th yet, even a Rukavina-endorsed guy from Ely. If he's the candidate, I have no problem supporting him and voting for him, but I don't feel as confident about victory with him. I find him approachable yet a little glib.

Tarryl Clark -- I don't like the way she talks about issues, especially the way she sometimes describes herself as an Eisenhower Republican "which is, you know, pretty much a Democrat today!" That may be true, but the DFL in the 8th doesn't want to hear that, know what I mean? If she's the candidate, we lose any righteous anger about Cravaack being a carpetbagger. While I am all for supporting women in politics, she is not the woman for me.

13. Clark is a total non-consideration for me. Always has been. Nolan has

peaked my interest for awhile. Thanks on the info on Anderson. I hope Nolan goes against Chipped Cracked.

10. I know some very good liberals from my area (3rd District)

who are working on Nolan's campaign. They are mostly union people as well. And, they are all people whose opinions I find worth listening to. Not that that means all that much to those who don't know them - but does have me thinking Nolan might be the best choice up there.

12. I was not convinced that he was, until a volunteer called with a Nolan phone bank and we had a nice

long talk. He convinced me, and now I'm a believer.
