Minnesota
Related: About this forumIn Carlton County, Minnesota the Social Services Department has changed their way of dealing with
clients. You no longer have a social worker - now you have a team and seldom talk to the same person twice on a problem. The teams deal with different problems such as aging, single families etc.
I am wondering if the is just a Carlton County change or if the whole state is using this model. Most of us clients think it is not working as good as the old model did. Lots of problems that do not get attention.

(14,807 posts)just trying to find out why my senior father was sent a Bill from the City when he hasn't owned the house for two years. Was told they had "many different Departments" yet not one of them could answer the question for three days. Not even being able to assess the computer records in each department! lol!!!!!!!!!!!!

(39,215 posts)days to answer an application. Now they call back and leave a message! The energy assistance people actually have a recording that tells you to ignore their last letter and that they are working on our applications. And while they are working all of us are running up debt. I think we have until April 2 before the energy companies can turn the services off. If the energy assistance does not kick in many of us will be without heat, lights and other electrical services. Crazy.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
