Walz would make a fine guv, though I favor Rebecca Otto. Mister Ed Mar 2017 #2
Walz is a little too centrist for my taste, but if he can win I'd be OK with him. The Velveteen Ocelot Mar 2017 #3

You Guy's have a strong bench to make it happen. Just do not let your Central Committee blow it up.

State rep Erin Murphy is also good, as is St Paul mayor Chris Coleman. We do have a good, deep bench, as noted above.
One reason I favor State Auditor Otto over the others is that she has deep, strong support statewide, in rural and urban areas both. That might make her the Democrat most likely to win in the general.
Much as I like Walz, I'm worried about having him leave his Congressional seat. MN1 is by no means a safe Democratic seat, but Walz has done a great job for his constituents, and they've continued to re-elect him. I'd just hate to see that seat go red.

The problem is what might happen to his House seat - don't want it to go GOP.
