while democrats lose theirs! I would have said I'll step down when the ass in the White House does. Democrats are civil while working/dealing with barbarians. That, IMO, is not a winning strategy in this political climate, wherein winner takes all.

It is critical that we focus on retaining the governors office and Frankin's seat.

I'm just not sure how to help make that happen. Open to ideas.

Few men love their wives so much as Al does Franni. Whenever these two were seen together, the smiles, their arms around each other displayed true love. My time with Franni are priceless.

Al is shaped like a cuddly teddy bear. Franni is petite, but not weak by any means. Her Apple pies are to die for. I have been honored to have had one from her. Al loves them too. Both will remain active in the party and hope to see them again in 2018.

I'm jealous of anyone who has!

When Al was running for hours first term I had a chance to have a one to one chat with her. A lovely woman, someone I wish I really knew.

In the past few days I have been getting two emails a day asking for donation for the DSCC. One of them was from Harris. At this point I delete all of them.

Gillibrand will have a tough row to hoe primary, 2018. She's probably lost the Clinton voters and money for a start.

but I don't think either one of them should expect to do well in Minnesota in the primary that year.

. . .end up becoming the first woman President, it won't really mean as much as they might think. Instead, it will be one more politician winning an election, not a moment when a marginalized person worked twice as hard to gain ground and stood twice as tall for the accomplishment.

That's how I feel about Obama, and it's mostly how I feel about Secretary Clinton. These two gave of their best to show the world that a black person or a woman can rise not only to a position of leadership but also to the challenge of leadership.

Gillibrand has worked hard to serve her own ends, and she may be able to do some good if she acquires the role of President. But "doing some good" is not the same thing as embodying the higher standards that underscore a democracy.
