Donald Trump's support in Minnesota is plummeting

After losing Minnesota by a slender 1.5 percent in 2016, President Donald Trump has bragged loud and hard that he'll carry our fair state next year. Unfortunately for him, the more Minnesotans get to know him, the more they dislike him.

That's the finding of Morning Consult, which does monthly surveys of presidential approval rates across the country. Since his inauguration, polling now shows that Trump's standing in Minnesota has plunged by 18 percent. If an election were held today, he'd lose in a landslide.

The poll doesn't go into why people feel this way, so one can only speculate why his fandom among independents and moderate Republicans is diving.

Perhaps the best theory is that a uniquely loathsome man, left to his own devices, is bound to drive people away the more they witness him in action. After two and a half years in office, even the most superficial voters can't help but see the dysfunction and ineptitude.

5. Jim Hagedorn represents the 1st CD.....

Nor is this lying sack of offal is well liked here. Farmers are not happy with Hagedorn's continued support of the Trade Tariffs that have hurt farmers financially.


Hagedorn has also BANNED the Political Civil Liberties group, Indivisible, from entering his Congressional offices. Offices we the Tax Payers of the 1st CD PAY for. His offices also have limited hours, thus cutting down on Constituent services.


Hagedorn's undying LOYALTY to Donald Trump, his refusal to stand up to Trump's overt racism, his attacks on 5 of his House colleagues with no comment, shows Jim Hagedorn to be a coward.

6. Burnout, too!

I am counting on some burnout.

While we may have started ours very early, (most likely during prior to the election) it seems to be inevitable.

Trump's ingrained methods of manipulation are becoming repetitive and they rely on being shocking and unexpected, mostly. He springs them on people, reporters and in his vomitorium or tweets regularly and since it is out in public it can lose its tang. No matter how many tricks he now has in the bag, they are getting more obvious and rather stale to boot.

So, you can add that to the mix of factors that are cremating his snake oil concession stands. We can contribute to that burnout by looking at the how of Trump, not the why. He has several vulnerable points and obvious tactics to exploit or call out. There is a strategy to be found here if we wake up from the persuasive, orange spell.

It is like the "wall" he promoted. It isn't real. An illusory wall is a great metaphor in this case. You just realize that it is a symbolic crux of his deception and get the punch line. We can figuratively walk right though it now and the jig is up.
