Comelia Walker loses appeal in Canton Primary Election
CANTON, Miss. (WLBT) - Comelia Walker’s fight to overturn a Mayoral Primary Election loss has concluded after the Mississippi Supreme Court affirmed a lower court ruling.
The court rejected Walker’s challenge of the Democratic Primary runoff to be elected as the city of Canton’s new mayor.
Walker lost that April 2025 election to Tim Scott Taylor by a total of 43 votes.
Taylor was elected mayor of Canton in the June 2025 General Election.
