Judge vacates order setting special election in Hinds Co. supervisor race

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A special status judge has vacated a previous order setting a special election in the challenge between David Archie and Tony Smith

Earlier this month, Judge Barry Ford ordered a new election to be held on July 14, citing discrepancies in the 2023 Democratic primary race for District 2 Supervisor.

Smith won the race by a nearly two-to-one margin over Archie, the incumbent.

On Wednesday, Ford vacated the order, saying Gov. Tate Reeves would have to set the special election.
