Some of you may be familiar with Show Me Cannabis, an association for legalized cannabis in Missouri.

There's also another group, an initiative to get medical marijuana in Missouri. We can vote on it this year but they need more signatures by the deadline. They also need help gathering signatures if you'd like to volunteer for that as well. Visit the site for FAQ and state wide signing locations, the law requires physical signatures on paper, signed in the county of your voter registration. You cannot sign online.

1. A lot of use the term "cannabis"

The word "marijuana" was invented by the prohibitionists to demean cannabis.

I'm not telling you what to call it but that's where the word came from.

I chose marijuana as the subject line for clicks.

And the spanish word being a deterrent taps into racial/foreigner anxieties. I'm not buying into that.

Lastly, I'm from CA originally, marijuana is not a dirty word, it blends in naturally with the local dialects. I don't get why it's a big deal. It's the same thing.

I don't smoke the stuff personally, but I think it should be legalized and regulated much like alcohol is. I definitely want medical marijuana as an option.
