Couple of things making me happy - my county was a little bluer in 2020

I live in Greene County. A very red county. Not as red as some of the surrounding counties, but still very red. The last time Greene County went for a Democrat for president was LBJ in 1964. Trump lost a percentage point here over 2016, and Biden got about 6 percent more of the vote than Clinton did. Also, my Missouri State House representative 135th district), a Republican, has apparently been fired! It is close enough for a recount, but the Democrat is leading by 80 votes!

Some of my partner's family is from Christian County. It can get right scary down there. A few years ago, we went down there with his aunt to decorate some graves at a cemetery on private land. While we were waiting for the owner to come let us onto the property, the guy who lived next to it stood out at the road in front of his place with a gun. I was scared to death that hillbilly was going to shoot us. His aunt was like "Oh, this is the booger woods, he's just a nut." Time was that people took their kids down there to go swimming in the river. Those days are long gone.
