Platte County prosecutor (R) withdraws from election
PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) - Longtime Platte County Prosecutor Eric Zahnd will not seek reelection, he told KCTV on Tuesday.
Zahnd, who has held the role since 2002, had previously filed for election before withdrawing from the race ahead of Tuesday’s 5 p.m. deadline.
Zahnd told KCTV he will hold a press conference Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. to explain his decision and what he’ll do next.
Mark Gibson, Zahnd’s longtime first assistant, filed for election on Tuesday.
