Special Counsel: Montana Attorney General Knudsen did not harass hospital staff

Note: This article was published on November 24. I am posting this thread since further repercussions may develop. Also, kudos to the hospital for turning down the patient's request to be administered ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine.

Democratic leaders criticized the scope of the investigation and “condemn” Austin Knudsen and Public Service Commissioner Jennifer Fielder for “intimidation of health care providers.”

HELENA — The findings of a legislative probe released late Monday into whether Attorney General Austin Knudsen and other public officials inappropriately interfered in health care directives and “harassed” health care workers at a Helena hospital last month have done nothing to subdue the uproar surrounding the incident.

At the request of minority Democrats in the House and Senate, the top GOP leaders on Oct. 25 authorized legislative special counsel Abra Belke to review state government documents and interview witnesses to determine what happened between the state Department of Justice, hospital staff and a patient who was being treated for COVID-19 at St. Peter’s Health hospital.

Belke delivered her report — entitled “Summarizing the Examination of Records” — to legislative leaders Monday, and a spokesman for Senate leaders sent it via email to members of the press just after 9:30 that evening.

Republican and Democratic officials were quick to exchange barbs in public statements. GOP leaders said the report exonerated Republican officials of any wrongdoing and accused Democrats and members of the press of “defamation,” while Democrats said the report shows a “pattern of public officials using their power to intimidate people.”

Hospitals refused to give Ivermectin. Lockdowns and political pressure followed.

I don't know why the MFP used the headline for the article, but I've often been reminded that the person that creates the headline may not have been the person that wrote the article.

The rot has clearly infiltrated all of Montana’s state leadership. We’re in real trouble up here.

and ER physician on my street all said that what the MT AG did was harassment pure and simple. So much so that the staffs at our local hospitals were preparing for it here in blue Missoula should the AG be let off the hook. He will be emboldened now. He’s nothing but a troll.

HELENA, Mont. — One Montana hospital went into lockdown and called police after a woman threatened violence because her relative was denied her request to be treated with ivermectin.

Officials of another Montana hospital accused public officials of threatening and harassing their health care workers for refusing to treat a politically connected COVID-19 patient with that antiparasitic drug or hydroxychloroquine, another drug unauthorized by the Food and Drug Administration to treat COVID.

For anyone checking in to a hospital, ascertain their feelings and if they want ivermectin, refer them immediately to a doctor who will treat them with it.

Don't make the nurses clean up after these jerks who want to take ivermectin. I know a critical care physician who told me that a family of a patient of his had been sneaking ivermectin into smoothies that they were delivering to the hospital. The patient was shitting his bed over and over until a family member let it slip they'd been giving him the de-wormer hidden in the smoothies. Guess it was a real mess.

in the death of this individual. But I seriously don’t care about these people who are determined to bring about the end of our society. The ER physician I referred to in my post has offered his personal cell phone number to people who are vaccine hesitant (dumbasses). He’s a friggin’ saint.
