DEER LODGE – A man shot and killed his wife and three children, then killed himself Sunday morning at the family's cabin southeast of Deer Lodge.
Before he shot himself, the man set the cabin on fire, Anaconda-Deer Lodge Police Chief Tim Barkell said. Four area departments responded and extinguished the fire.
The cabin is in a remote area about 15 miles southeast of Deer Lodge, three miles east of the Orofino Campground in the Deerlodge National Forest. It is in Anaconda-Deer Lodge County.
