Voter turnout low in tri-cities primary election

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Voter participation was low throughout the tri-cities during Tuesday’s primary election.

Adams County Clerk Ramona Thomas said turnout appeared lower than in previous years, though she did not have specific numbers from prior elections available for comparison.

“I don’t have an explanation as to why that is,” Thomas said. “I know people’s lives are just busy and we tend to live in our own circles.”

Thomas said voters consistently reported that lines and crowds were nonexistent at polling locations.
